According to this Reading Eagle article, this 5-6 month old pitbull
was placed in a pet carrier and dumped over a bank left to roll into the Schuylkill River which would “hopefully” lead to the dog’s death. However, the pet carrier became snagged on a branch and the dog’s life was spared.
Boys playing basketball at Baer Park heard the dog’s cries and investigated. The parent of one of the boys called the Animal Rescue League. The dog is being treated at a veterinary hospital after it had been found to have a broken hind leg that will require surgery. I sense the dog will be ok. I don’t know if she will be emotionally scarred. Time will tell.
BUT, this ANGERS ME SO MUCH! Whoever did this wanted the dog to die- that is obvious. How is this any different than Michael Vick drowning his own pitbulls?
Whoever did this, you sicken me! Why did you do this??? Can you honestly tell me you couldn’t take the dog to a shelter?
I will never understand people’s motives or logic or lack of it. Trying to kill your pet deserves the maximum penalty allowed by law. I hope whoever you are, you get caught and pay the price. I do feel what goes around comes around and you will pay either way.
I can’t comprehend this horrible act of animal cruelty. Thank god for those boys who found her!
Someone has to know something. People talk. If you know who did this, please do the right thing and inform the Animal Rescue League @ 610-373-8830 so the right person(s) can be prosecuted for this heinous act of animal cruelty. Even better, turn yourself in. It’s the right thing to do.
