ALMOST HEAVEN KENNEL WILL NOT FACE REVOCATION LICENSE HEARING ON DEC. 19TH

December 10, 2008 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

Derbe Skip Eckhart will not be facing a hearing on the revocation of his kennel license as originally planned on December 19th. In fact, he won’t be facing the revocation of his kennel license at all. Instead the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement will be taking a different direction to hopefully get Eckhart out of the business, possibly for good.
The details are sketchy at the moment but this is what I know. The Bureau will implement the new dog law when Eckhart applies for a 2009 kennel license. They feel with the new law, they will be better able to deny him a license because of his past convictions of animal cruelty and bad inspection reports, such as the one that happened this past October when the PSPCA raided his kennel.
The manner in which the Bureau can use the preceding claims is if Eckhart is denied a kennel license and he appeals. If this should happen and he is denied a kennel license and the denial is upheld, Eckhart won’t be able to apply again.
I will update as I get more information.
