AUTOSPY RESULTS FOR DAWN BRANCHEAU RELEASED

April 1, 2010 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

The autospy results are in for the trainer who died as a result of injuries sustained by Tilikum, the killer whale at SeaWorld. And they are horrific.
Dawn Brancheau (pictured with Tillie) died from multiple fractures to her back, ribs, legs, arm and face. Her left arm was removed and part of her scalp was torn. According to the autospy results, Dawn’s spinal cord was also injured and her body was covered in cuts and bruises.
The report says Dawn died as a result of drowning and her horrific injuries.
Some say Tillie was playing. Was this just an orca playing around that spiraled out of control?
I don’t think so. People who witnessed this said Tillie was aggressive. With injuries Dawn sustained, one would have to think that Tillie had every intention of hurting or killing his victim. Ripping her left arm off and part of her scalp does not imply “playtime” to me.
Tillie is a wild animal. As of now, Tillie has been kept isolated and has not participated in any SeaWorld shows. What will be his fate? Will he be released or can he be released since he has been in captivity since 1983?
To top this, the family is fighting to keep the video of this gruesome death from being made public. Why does anyone have to see how this poor woman was killed in such a horrific manner? This video does not belong out there for the world to see. Isn’t it painful enough that her relatives have lost a beloved member of their family? Let her rest in peace.
Do you think the video should be made public? And if so, why?
