DEEPEST CONDOLENCES

July 31, 2011 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

Yesterday, it was with sadness that I read an article explaining the untimely death of a local veterinarian, Dr. Timothy Barrow. Dr. Barrow and his wife own Oley Valley Animal Clinic. This is where I take my dogs, Shadow and Jazz. I did not have Dr. Barrow as my own personal veterinarian but my sister-in-law did as well as others. All speak so highly of him and are heartbroken over his loss.
While Dr. Barrow didn’t treat Shadow and Jazz, he leaves behind a veterinary hospital staff that has been so very kind to me especially during Shadow’s recent health problems. I have either been there in person or on the phone with many of the staff including other veterinarians concerning Shadow alot. All have been so nice and courteous to me. Dr. Fatkin has especially been good to us. She has been treating Shadow during this tough road we’ve been traveling. But she has been quite comforting during our ordeal. I was there on Friday to pick up more meds for Shadow and not one let on about the loss they had just endured.
I want to extend my deepest sympathies to Dr. Barrow’s wife and family, friends and fellow colleagues at the Oley Valley Animal Hospital.
I also want to extend my deepest sympathies to a friend’s family for an untimely loss of another fellow animal enthusiast I learned about yesterday as well. At the request of our late friend, I will keep his name anonymous. He exteneded his heart and home to many, many animals over the years. He was not only willing to help but provided a home to those who didn’t have any. He truly cared about his pets and now they have lost their “dad”.
He wasn’t afraid to spend money…..and I mean thousands of dollars, to help a pet. His death comes as a shock to those who knew him, including me.
My friend, wherever you are, I hope you now have peace. RIP.
