DOG RESCUED FROM CLIFF IN OLEY

April 24, 2010 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

Another story of a German Shephard involved in a resue but this time it is the dog, Rocky, who was rescued after he fell part way down a cliff in Oley. (Check out the article which has video with it.)
Rocky who is partially blind was chasing a rabbit and fell over the cliff above Bertolet Mill Road in Oley Township.
Rocky is one lucky dog “to not have fallen 15 feet below the crest of a near-vertical rock face”. And Rocky stayed on a ledge just large enough for him to stand. Unbelievable.
I just have to say kudos to everyone involved in rescuing Rocky. From the first police officer on site, Michael Lentz to the firemen to Rocky’s owner, Ken Sobjak- job well done, men!!
To all- I am so happy to hear of this outcome. We all know the outcome could have been very devastating.
Apparently Rocky is okay but Officer Lentz said he was difficulty standing on one of his paws.
