Change a Companion Animal’s/Pet Life Day started in 2009 to create awareness of the many homeless pets in shelters and rescues and to encourage adoption of these pets waiting for forever homes. Adoption will change a pet’s life in ways you can’t imagine but giving them a home to finally call their own is all they want. Not only does that pet’s life change, so will yours, forever!

Here are several ways in which to change a pet’s life:
- Volunteering at a shelter/rescue
- Fostering a pet
- Teaching your pet a new activity
- Visiting an animal shelter/rescue
- Thank the people who run the shelters/rescues
- Donating items to an animal shelter/rescue
- Giving your pet more exercise
- Adoption/Fostering
