The Farm Sanctuary created National Adopt a Turkey Month in response to the 46 million turkeys who are killed for Thanksgiving.
The organization created this annual event in 1986 to show what wonderful animals they are.
If you’re interested, you can “adopt” one of their rescued turkeys.
Or you can go to your local rescue and ask to adopt/sponsor one of their turkeys for a month.
Whatever you choose, let’s help to reduce the number of turkeys who are slaughtered every year.
