In light of what’s happening in the world with COVID-19, let’s spend time with our pets today whether you’re working from home or you go elsewhere to work or if you’re not able to go to work!
Make it a special day by taking your dog for a walk or hike. Be careful of ticks since lyme disease is prevalent is certain parts of the U.S.. Be sure to check your dog when you’re done with your activity. Lyme can produce no symptoms in some animals and sadly, in others, it can cause debilitating symptoms or even death.
My one miniature black poodle had been diagnosed with lyme; however, Jazz never presented any signs. Then there was my gray and white miniature poodle, Shadow, who screamed out in pain when his legs were affected by the vicious disease. He could barely walk during the flares. He also became quite listless and lethargic. My vet stayed on top of it and with the right medication, Shadow always bounced back.
Other people aren’t so fortunate. Be diligent with checking your dog.
Play ball or tug-of-war or whatever their favorite game is!! Have fun!
So wherever you are today, make some special time for that special pet!
