On December 17th, 2013, PSPCA Humane Law Enforcement officers responded to a call from a police Department that led to the discovery of six animals that were kept in a foreclosed house owned by former veterinary technician, Jessica Little, 41.  Little did not reside in the home at the time.

Their investigation led to the removal of six animals, four dogs and two cats. Three dogs were confined to crates. All three were severely matted and covered in their own fecal matter and urine. A fourth dog and the two dogs were also living in unsanitary conditions. One of the cats was also severely matted.

The Pennsylvania SPCA’s press release announced Jessica Little, 41, of Pleasant Gap,  Centre County, has pled guilty to 12 counts of animal cruelty Tuesday, October 20th, 2014.

Little was charged with 3 misdemeanor counts for torturing 3 of the dogs and 9 summary charges based on failure to provide veterinary care and unsanitary confinement of a fourth dog and 2 cats by the PSCPCA.
The animals were fed occasionally when Little would stop by and throw some food into their cages.
All six animals were transported to the PSPCA for veterinary evaluation and treatment.  Sadly, one of the tortured dogs passed away the day after being rescued.
Two dogs and both cats have been adopted, and the fourth dog is now available for adoption at the PSPCA’s Philadelphia headquarters.
Sentencing for Little will be in December.
