HOUSE BILL 2532 HAS PASSED THROUGH THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

September 17, 2008 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

House Bill 2532, sponsored by Berks County Rep. Thomas Caltagirone has successfully passed through the House of Representatives today! Another triumph for the animals!
This bill will prevent surgical procedures performed by those with no formal training, often in unsanitary conditions and without anesthetics such as surgical birth, debarking and tail docking after three days of age in violation of the cruelty statute.
We thank Rep. Thomas Caltagirone for sponsoring and getting this legislation passed through the House. This piece of legislation is off to the Senate as well.
This is a great day for animals and animal advocates.
