Today marks a new direction for puppymills. The first step has finally been won with a unanimous vote to pass House Bills 2525 & 2532.
All of you who called and had written your legislators- you deserve a huge thank you for what you accomplished! It is amazing what we can do when we work together. And we did!! The next step- the Senate.
I was at the Capitol to see part of the rally that was held at Soldier’s Grove today. I had a prior commitment so I arrived late but still got there in time to see many people with their dogs and banners hoping to make a difference with the legislators.
I sat in the gallery of the House of Representative as Rep. Jim Casorio aksed for a vote at the end of today’s session. I knew in my heart that this would go through. Then I heard Rep. Thomas Caltagirone’s name being mentioned for House Bill 2532. I could feel progress was about to be made.
As I left the Capitol building, I felt confident that the vote would go through but I would have to wait to see the outcome. I called my husband and told him 2525 was going to pass. I am so happy!!!
