Is man’s best friend becoming police officer’s worst enemy ? TV show topic tomorrow night

July 23, 2013 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 6 Comments

Join me tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM when I will be talking about the recent cases of pet dogs being killed by local law enforcement.

These cases are not isolated and it is a very serious issue across the nation as we see the rise in the number of cases of pets dogs being killed by police officers.

Tune in and call in and share your views on this important topic. The number to call in is 610-378-0426.

What do you think it will take for police to stop using their gun as their first course of defense against a dog? Is it always necessary to use a gun? If not, what should police do when they’re confronted with dogs?

You can see this show live on Comcast Ch. 2 or Service Electric, Ch. 19 or streamline it live at 6:30 PM by clicking on this link.

Share your opinions so we can make a change so this doesn’t continue to occur. It could be your dog next time!

Glad to hear you’re doing this show. We need a national discussion with results. Dog behvior training is needed for cops. They can’t keep killing our pets!

I hear too many stories of officers killing pet dogs. It isn’t only Max who lost his life due to a gun-happy officer. They cops need training in dog behavior. They shoot and ask questions later. Meanwhile, owners are left scrambling dealing with the loss of their best friend. It’s time to fire these cops!

The problem wasn’t just the cop, it was Max’s owner, who should know that Rottweilers are very protective over their owners and might have jumped out of the car. I feel bad for the dog. If the owner truly cared about him, he would have tried to protect him from this.

Cops need training on how to deal with dogs. Too many dogs are being killed due to their ignorance or stupidity. The animals shouldn’t be losing their lives as much as they are. Cops should learn the difference between an aggressive and fearful dog. They kill even when their lives aren’t at stake. I’m tired of hearing the stories.
