IT ONLY TAKES ONE PERSON

November 29, 2010 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

It’s amazing that it truly only takes one person to help an animal in need. With the help of email and social networking sites, it is astounding how these stories/videos can go and do go viral in minutes over the internet.

I know firsthand the power of just one person. I had taken two dogs to be showcased on the “Ten Show” in Philadelphia. Two great senior dogs that had been overlooked while sitting in their kennels.

While waiting with the other guests for that show, I had a number of people come up to me inquiring about these two fabulous dogs. One of the guests for that show was Alice Cooper. “Alice” is known for his outrageous, gothic music shows. “Alice” was anything but that. He took a liking to the small terrier dog, Savannah, I had with me. Alice held her and told me he had a Bichon Frise. He was such a gentle, caring person. Never quite expected that. What’s funny is that I had a Rottwieller with me and Alice preferred Savannah.

In the end, that one person turned out be part of another’s entourage for the show, who loved this little dog. He took her picture and send it out to hundreds of others via email. They, in turn, sent her picture to their friends. In the end, Savannah did find a home!

As the title says, it only takes one person to make a difference in the life of a homeless or abandoned animal. Will that next person be you?
