PET FOOD STOLEN FROM ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION- HOW LOW CAN SOMEONE GO?

August 18, 2010 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

“WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — A Whitehall Township animal shelter has been dealt a blow in one of the worst possible places, its kitchen.

Officials with Peaceable Kingdom say 50 bags of cat and dog food were stolen on Monday night. That’s one thousand pounds of food.

The food had just been donated over the weekend. Anyone interested in helping Peaceable Kingdom replenish its food supply is asked to donate “ProPlan” brand food. The shelter is also taking cash donations.”
Peaceable Kingdom is a no-kill shelter for cats and dogs located in the Lehigh Valley. Shelter workers work extremely hard to get donations to help homeless and abandoned pets. For someone to steal 1,000 pounds of food, I feel this was not only an act of theft but borders on an act of animal cruelty because these animals depend on this very food for their health and well-being.
If you are interested in helping Peaceable Kingdom by donating food or money, you may contact them at 610-432-2532. You can drop off donations at their address: 1049 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, PA 18052. You can also email them at :pklvshelter@yahoo.com.
