SENATE APPOPRIATIONS COMMITTEE HAS VOTED HOUSE BILL 2525 OUT OF COMMITTEE

October 8, 2008 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

According to Jessie Smith, Special Deputy Secretary of Dog Law Enforcement, in a statement said two major amendments including two additional seats on Canine Health Board for PA Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and Penn Vet School and unfettered access (to outdoor) exercise area) can be waived by Canine Health Board but alternative for exercise must be proven to be both enforceable and verifiable have been added to the original bill. According to Jessie, there may be more amendments but these are the two major ones.
Hopefully the Senate will vote on this today. HB 2525 will then go back to the House of Representatives for another vote. No amendments may be allowed.
It looks like we’re moving forward. Let’s hope and pray it does.
