Tank, Abandoned by his Rescuer and Hit by a Car, Needs a Fresh Start in Life!

March 7, 2016 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 5 Comments

This is Tank who was found emaciated and starving at a young age when he was rescued.  The person who rescued and kept him as his own has now abandoned him along with another dog.   Tank is only 5 years old and weighs 74 lbs.  He is a Pit/Lab mix, neutered and up-to-date on shots.

Tank has had a REALLY tough go of it with not only being abandoned according to the Pocono Animal Welfare Society aka PAWS.   He was recently diagnosed with an issue in his left ACL due to an old injnury. .ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is the most common canine orthopedic knee problem.   The veterinarian suspects Tank was hit by a car!  At this time,  this old injury appears to bother him intermittently but it doesn’t seem to affect him.
The good news if you are interested in adopting Tank is that funding is available for surgery should he require it!
Tank gets along with other dogs fine as long as they don’t take his food or toys.  Overall, Tank is a sweet, playful boy despite his string of bad luck in life so far but we are looking to change this.  He has been living at a kennel while he awaits a second chance for a permanent home.
Please help Tank find a forever home where he will never have to leave again.  To arrange a meeting with Tank or for more info, please call 570-688-6427 or email info@poconoanimalwelfaresociety.org.

Man, Tank has been through too much in his five short years! Why are people so cruel to animals? How could his rescuer dump him with another dog? Stupidity at its finest and saddest hour. Tank, I hope you fine your forever home!
