US SENATE PASSES BILL TO BAN ANIMAL CRUSH VIDEOS

September 30, 2010 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

This past Tuesday evening, the US Senate passed the proposed Animal Crush Prohibition Act of 2010- H.R. 5566.
It passed unanimously in the House back in July of this year.
Animal crush videos are horrific videos typically of women in stilettos crushing and/or impaling small animals to death. It is said these acts of animal cruelty are done for those with a “sick” sexual fetish.
This bill, if approved would make it criminal if someone creates, sells, distributes, advertises, markets and exchanges animal crush videos. The penalties if someone would be found guilty of engaging in these acts would be up to seven years in prison.
The bill now returns to the House. I see no problem with this bill being passed once and for all. This should have been outlawed decades ago.
Unfortunately, it is sick and demented people who take pleasure in torturing these innocent and helpless animals. The internet has seen a surge of these violent videos in recent years.
The bill now goes back to the House. We are so close to this becoming law. I, for one, cannot wait!!! It’s about time.
