VICK PLEADS GUILTY TO ONE STATE DOGFIGHTING CHARGE

November 25, 2008 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

Michael Vick arrived in court today in Sussex County Courthouse, Virginia, this morning at 6:30 AM for his 9 AM court date. He was escorted by police to the courthouse which was surrounded by protesters from PETA.
Vick pled guilty to one state dogfighting charge. His lawyers struck a deal that if he pled guilty he wouldn’t get additional jail time if he stays out of trouble for four years. Isn’t that wonderful? He will receive a three year suspended prison term and a $2500.00 fine. The fine will be suspended if he pays for court costs.
Vick had already pled guilty to federal charges and is serving a 23-month sentence but still had unresolved felony charges against him in Virginia state court.
He has filed for bankruptcy and is hoping to make a NFL comeback after he serves his time. He wants to be released to a halfway house but had to get all of his criminal charges against him resolved. If he does go to a halfway house he will have better access to NFL team officials. This is unbelievable to me.
I can’t imagine the NFL taking back a known animal killer- someone who tortured his dogs and knowing he brutally killed his own dogs and other family pets. I forgot, Vick found God before he entered prison. How convenient.
Do you believe Vick is reformed?
