WINGE POINTE TO HOLD PIGEON SHOOT THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND

August 30, 2011 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

To see video of what happens in a pigeon shoot, click here. Warning…graphic video.
Pigeon “shoots” are archaic, barbaric and cruel to pigeons but still Pennsylvania is the only state in the nation where they are still legal! Go figure. And sadly, they will continue this weekend on September 3rd and 4th at Wing Pointe, located in Shoemakersville, north of Reading PA.
What happens at a pigeon shoot….the birds are released from a box for “hunters” to shoot and kill/maim them. The pigeons are transported as far away as New York without food and water to these shoots. When released, they are confused, tired and dazed. This makes is so much easier for the “hunter” to shoot at them.
There is no hunting involved in pigeon shoots. If the pigeon is not killed by the gun, people including kids, will pick them up and kill them or dump their live bodies into a trash can. These shoots attract people from far and wide and from all walks of life.
Shark has released the following information about this weekend’s upcoming pigeon shoot. This is indeed PA’s shame.

Action Alert: Wing Pointe to Hold Another Pigeon Shoot Labor Day Weekend!

Apparently four days of slaughtering small trapped animals wasn’t enough to satiate the bloody desires of Slobfather Joe Solana and his pals, so there are going to hold another major shoot Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4.

Due to the success of live streaming at the last shoot, we’ll do that again, and we have some surprises in store for the cowardly killers. We hope you can join us for certain to be a hard-hitting event.

If you can make it to Wing Pointe that weekend to lend a hand filming vehicles entering and leaving Wing Pointe, please let us know. Email: Media@sharkonline.org
