WOMAN GETS MAULED BY POLAR BEAR AT BERLIN ZOO

April 12, 2009 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein

A 32 yr. old woman climbed a fence to enter into a feeding area for bears at a Berlin Zoo in Germany. The end result was her being seriously bitten as depicted in the above photo. You can see her rescue here.
This zoo is home to Knut who became a worldwide sensation in 2006 when he was the first polar bear to be born there in more than thirty years.
The woman is being treated for her wounds but has also been cited for trespassing.
Now I am thankful the woman is alive but I can’t comprehend why she or anyone else makes these daring moves to jump into areas of zoos where they clearly don’t belong and put their very lives at risk. And on top of that, others are forced to put their lives at risk to save theirs.
Has anyone been able to figure out this enigma?
