Ava is in desperate need of financial help to fix her broken leg

Ava, a very small Chihuahua weighing only four and a half pounds,  has a broken leg due to a fight she was involved in with her “siblings” (dogs) over a dropped piece of food. In the midst of the fight, her 75 lb sibling stepped on Ava causing the transverse fracture which means the break is straight across the bone at a right angle to the length of the bone. The break is located in the radius and ulna of her right front foot.

Numerous veterinarians denied helping Ava because the $500+ cash needed at the time of the service could not be met by Ava’s “parents.

After people came forward and gave money via GoFundMe for Ava, a veterinarian did see Ava.

There are two options to help Ava medically.  A procedure could be performed where she will be sedated while they stretch her muscles. Through xrays and stretching, Ava’s bones will be lined up as best they can and splinted. The cost of the procedure could range from  $457.52 up to $744.82 Plus, you can’t discount any incidental costs.

The other option is take her to an orthopedic specialist. There is no estimate for this veterinarian but most likely will be a higher cost involved.

Either procedure, does NOT guarantee a fix, and ultimately, it may still have to be amputated. Only time will tell.

To see the financial costs involved with the veterinarian or to donate to Ava’s fund, please visit their GoFundMe page.

Ava’s mom, Jamie Schur, wants to truly thank everyone who has helped out, and states she is overwhelmed with the whole thing. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, from me, Ava, and my family, who loves her as a part of the family, and are just praying for a recovery.

God bless Ava. Good luck! I wish I had money to give to you. I’m paying off my own vet bills.

Poor dog. I will try to give some money. It won’t be much. Wish I could give more.

Look at the dog’s eyes! How awful that must be for him. Thrilled they removed the dogs but why can’t they remove all of them if he’s unlicensed?? It’s not right!
