Chicago Man Held on $100,000 Bail when Seen Choking, Punching, Kicking and Whipping Dog

June 24, 2018 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 8 Comments

#Isaac Goodlow, a 25-year-old of the 4000 block of Bonhill Drive in Arlington Heights, Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty after he was seen punching, kicking, choking and whipping his dog at 3:40 AM – all caught on a police street camera in the neighborhood of West Englewood, 10 miles south of Chicago.

Goodlow is being held on $100,000 bail.

When police officers arrived on the scene after being alerted by the Chicago’s police Strategic Decisions Center,  the man was seen whipping the dog with an extension cord which was  also used to drag the dog down the sidewalk.

The police observed the dog showing signs of shaking, being injured, scared, emaciated and dehydrated according to Assistant State Attorney Michael Knight during a brief press conference.     The dog vomited the water he was given by an officer.

The dog was taken to  a emergency veterinarian at MedVet, a 24-hour animal hospital center.    The veterinarian who examined him determined the canine showed signs of previous abuse/torture based on evidence of numerous earlier injuries.    The dog had older wounds and abrasions from previous incidents.

Goodlow wanted to know why his dog was taken after his arrest.     He said he “should have killed that dog.”   Goodlow  gave the explanation that the beatings he inflicted upon his dog were how he “tames” him, according to the police report.

Goodlow admitted to being a street gang but it isn’t known if the dog was used in dogfighting.

The injured dog is believed to be a pit bull terrier.

Goodlow was ordered to pay $10,000 for release and to undergo electronic home monitoring if he was able to post bail by Judge John F. Lyke Jr.

He doesn’t deserve to have his dog returned to him nor should the dog be returned. He threatened to kill him. The authorities should recognize this and know not to allow Goodlow to have his dog. His dog needs medical and behavioral help at this point after all the damage he has inflicted upon him.

      Thanks..

Yes it does, Jan! It won’t happen. It never does. We need stronger animal cruelty laws in all 50 states. Without stronger laws, animal abusers will continue the cycle of cruelty and the animals will pay for it.

      Thanks!

Piece of crap excuse for a human being! The dog was tortured by him. Torture this guy! Do to him what he did to his own dog. Does he deserve to die like he wanted to do to his dog? Let’s debate that.
