After receiving a tip on Monday, March 23rd,  PSPCA Humane Law Enforcement Officers executed a search warrant yesterday and found a deceased cat on the property.  The property is listed on the 300 block of McKinley Drive, Effort, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

A necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death and the next steps in this investigation.

“We thank the public for alerting us to this case. Unfortunately, too often we come across animals left in properties that have been vacated by their residents, and this may be one of those cases,” said Pennsylvania SPCA CEO Jerry Buckley.  “We are dedicated to fighting animal cruelty in Monroe County and in 22 other counties across the state of Pennsylvania.”

To report animal abuse, all the Pennsylvania SPCA’s cruelty hotline at 1-866-601-SPCA.

I’m so tired of people doing this to pets. What are they thinking? I hope they’re held liable for what they did.
