Join Dee Simmers, animal advocate who has helped a family find “Justice for Puss,” a cat who was euthanized by the Animal Rescue League of Berks County in 2015 and Tiffany Wegman, the owner of Violet, the cat who was euthanized for aggressive behavior last month after being at the ARL for only four hours.
Another pet cat, Sir Diddy, was euthanized on November 13th, after deemed aggressive by the ARL. Sir Diddy was adopted and microchipped by the ARL in January of this year. He was at the shelter for 24 hours when it was decided to destroy him.
There is no law in Pennsylvania which requires any animal shelter to hold cats for a certain period of time. Shelters are legally allowed to euthanize a cat once they have possession of the animal. However, the ARL needs to be held accountable for its actions. Apologies are not good enough.

Man, I feel bad for any cats who go missing. Killed two pet cats in a short amount of time. How inadequate. All comes down to management.
