Samuel Stoltzfus of Lititz, PA, was found guilty on 26 counts of animal cruelty for keeping 18 dogs in unsanitary conditions as well as docking the tails of puppies beyond the allowable period.  Puppies over 5 days old are prohibited from having their tails docked unless performed by a veterinarian.

Stoltzfus has been sentenced to 90-days prohibition of animals on each count (totaling over 6 years), forfeiture of all animals involved, and he must pay restitution to the Pennsylvania SPCA for the care given to the animals when seized in the amount of $29,000.

On September 18, 2015, 18 dogs were found living in feces and urine-covered kennels and also found in the dogs’ coats.  One dog was suffering from ulcers on their paws due to unsanitary conditions.  The animals that were seized by the PSPCA were 2 adult Boxers, 8 Boxer puppies, 1 adult Shiba Inu, 4 Shiba Inu puppies, 2 German Shepherds- one pregnant and 1 Bermese Mountain dog.

The dogs and puppies are currently being housed at the PSPCA.

Lancaster County has the highest percentage of puppy mills in the state of PA. Stoltzfuz is also synonymous with puppy mills. They don’t care about the dog and puppies and never will. I don’ t know how they stay in business with the abuse and neglect they inflict upon these animals. God bless their souls. They live in hell and don’t deserve it while the ones who operate them should be in hell.

Don’t buy from pet stores. The puppies come from puppy mills. If you don’t buy, they don’t have a reason to breed them! Adopt, adopt , adopt! Don’t buy over the internet either! This is despicable.

No jail time for this person either? We are so backwards here. They abuse animals and get nothing. They will be back doing it all over again. ugh.
