Texas Court Upholds Kristen Lindsey’s Punishment for Killing Cat with Bow/Arrow

May 2, 2018 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 6 Comments

A Texas Court has rejected Kristen Lindsey’s appeals to reinstate her veterinary license after it was suspended when she infamously shot and killed a neighbor’s cat in the head with her bow and arrow in 2015.    Lindsey posted a photo of herself posing with the orange and white tabby, Tiger,  while holding onto the arrow that was plunged into the cat’s head.    Lindsey claimed the cat was feral.

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners voted in October 2016 to suspend her license for five years as punishment for her animal cruelty.   However,  Lindsey was legally allowed to practice veterinary medicine on a probationary basis beginning in October 2017.    Lindsey only completed one year of full suspension from October 2016 to October 2017.

Lindsey appealed the Texas Board of Veterinary Examiner’s official sanction and appealed its authority to bring disciplinary action against her. Her attorneys arguing that the actions she took “had nothing to do with the practice of veterinary medicine.”    The Texas Third Court of Appeals rejected both appeals.     Lindsey was also ordered to pay all costs related to the appeals- in the trial court and the court of appeals.

“We’re pleased that the courts still see Kristen Lindsey’s actions as deserving of punishment, however, a one-year suspension is grossly inadequate for a veterinarian who gained such pleasure from the torture of a cat,” said Becky Robinson, president and founder of Alley Cat Allies.   “Kristen Lindsey should never be trusted to practice veterinary medicine again.”   I think Becky Robinson’s statement is accurate and fair.

She still doesn’t get that she committed animal cruelty. To her it was a joke to be made fun of social media. No on in the veterinary field with any decency would think it’s ok to shoot a cat like that and brag about it.

Seems she needs psychological help in this matter.

I was going to say the same thing. She is allowed to practice veterinary medicine and still wants to appeal the decision. So what if it’s on a probationary basis she still gets to be a vet. This woman doesn’t not understand what she did was despicable and cruel.

I can’t stand this woman. She think she doesn’t deserve to be punished. She killed a cat with an arrow stuck in his head! How can you NOT see this is sick and wrong?

Her attorneys arguing that the actions she took “had nothing to do with the practice of veterinary medicine.” She showed poor judgment as an animal professional whose job is to take care of animals. It had everything to do with her position as a veterinarian. She made a joke out of Tiger’s death and bragged about how she killed him. Who wants a vet like that taking care of their pet? Certainly not me! Hopefully she’s learned a thing or two but it doesn’t appear to be so since she sued to get the charges dropped and get her license back.

Ok…this woman doesn’t see the error of her ways. Why is she still allowed to be a vet?
