To Rescue or Not to Rescue/ Tribute to Military Animals for Memorial Day- TV Show, Friday, May 25 @ 9:30 AM

May 23, 2018 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 3 Comments

Join me for this episode (Friday @ 9:30 AM) when my guest, Ed Eppenstein, and I discuss what to do if or when you find a baby animal.    Do you leave it alone?  Do you move it?   Do you take care of it or take it to a wildlife rehabilitator?    We’ll be talking about opossums, baby rabbits, turtles, birds, ducks and more!   A fun show to learn from two people who’ve rescued and taken care of many animals but also recognize when it’s time to take an animal to that wildlife rehabilitation specialist.     We deal with Red Creek Wildlife Center who takes in just about any animal.   They also will give updates on the animals you bring to them.

Monday is Memorial Day when we, as a nation, honor our men and women who died while serving our country during parades and observances.    The U.S. Military has used tens of thousands of a variety of animals to serve our country.    From horses to mules, to pigeons, sea lions, and  dolphins.     Most of us recognize the Military trains dogs to be a partner to a human soldier.    I made a special video to honor the Military dogs who served our country.

You can view the show on Friday, May 25th at 9:30 AM on Comcast Ch. 15.    If you don’t get this channel, you can always streamline the show live here.  http://www.bctv.org/bctv/watch_live/wl_bctv/.

I took these photos of this statue in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania which honors our Military Dogs.   It was designed and sculpted by Joseph Povine, a Korean War Veteran.    It is a beautiful display to honor the thousands of dogs who have served the U.S. armed services.     Remember our men and women this Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th.   But, don’t forget about all of the animals that have lost their lives serving in the military.   They are responsible for saving many of our soldiers during war time.

Oh yeah, really good show! I didn’t know that many animals were in the military.
