Update on missing dog, Baxter

April 20, 2013 by Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein 16 Comments

Baxter, pictured, had gone missing from his Allentown home during the early part of April. Great news! ย Baxter has been found!

Yesterday was his first full day at home. According to Janine Choplick, Humane Officer for Hillside SPCA, Baxter had a wonderful group of concerned people that took the initiative and stay involved to keep tabs on all sightings of this handsome dog.

Baxter is a shy fellow and was adopted because his human family had previously adopted Baxter’s best friend. When the family realized how much these two dogs loved each other, the family felt they had no choice but to add Baxter to their family.

It was that undeniable bond that reunited Baxter and his family. There had been a sighting and Baxter’s best friend and soul mate was taken to the area the other day. His shyness melted away and he became unafraid and Baxter, his soul mate and his human family were finally reunited.

Baxter is finally back at home, safe and sound, where he belongs.

Many thanks to those who shared Baxter’s information and to all those who searched for him.

Never give up hope. It’s amazing to me what we can do when we work together. Losing a pet is quite devastating. I’ve experienced it firsthand. With social media, friends and even strangers working together, pets are being reunited with their families more than ever.

Baxter, you adorable dog, I’m so glad you’re back home with the people and soul mate who love you.

I see dogs and cats wandering around and question if they have a home. Were they kicked out? Were they left to fend on their own? Did they wander away from home and does anyone care? Some dogs form packs because they’re on their own and become dangerous. What once was a lovely house dog, now becomes mean. He’s forced to becuz no one cared about him. Something is wrong with people to do that to pets.

My dog had been missing and was shy ,more like a loner, like Baxter. He didn’t go to anyone but if you opened up a car door, he would jump in. He was found by using flyers. Flyers were placed everywhere and I would highly recommend other people to do that if their pet goes missing. It’s a great tool to find your pet.

That is so sweet that Baxter has a soul mate and it was the other dog who helped to lure him out. It’s great to have more than one dog. Need any more proof?

Another one finds his way home and so many more needing to do that. Happy ending. Can’t give up looking to anyone who has lost a pet. The harder you work at it, the luckier you get.
